Art of Making Impressive ViSUME!!

How to make an Impressive Video Resume?

With the Industry migrating to digital solutions, there is a dire change in the way hiring is done. Now is the trend of VISUME- "Video Resume".

Take a look at our five must-read tips for creating a video resume:

1. Make Sure It's Appropriate

Don't just create a video resume because you can, create one because it's relevant to the job you want to do.

If you're applying for a role in the online, media, social or creative professions, then it's more likely a decent video resume will have the desired effect, i.e., getting you invited for an interview.

Don't send a video resume to a more traditional type of company that won't "get it." You might do your chances more harm than good.

Graeme Anthony, from the example above, is a public relations executive. His cleverly thought out online content adds an extra wow factor to his already outstanding experience.

2. Don't Just Read Out Your Resume

The whole point of a video presentation is to offer a potential employer greater insight into you than a traditional resume can, so just reading aloud the contents of your CV is a waste of everyone's time.

Use the video to help the employer get a sense of not just what you have achieved, but what you are capable of achieving in the future.

And if it's appropriate and relevant to the job (as in the example above), then don't be afraid to talk about your passions.

3. Keep it Short

"Keep your video resume short and sweet.

"Keep in mind that recruiters would likely want to use the video resume as an initial filter for applicants," However, recruiters do not typically want to use the video resume in lieu of a real, in-person interview.

Think of your video resume as your own personal teaser trailer.

4. Don't Be Afraid to Be Creative

If you're opting for a video resume, then go the whole hog and make it spectacular. Be creative, whether that's with the concept of your pitch, use of humor, clever production values or brilliant editing.

However, stay classy. "Be creative, but professional. Do not deviate too much from the demeanor you would have in the workplace"

"Dress professionally, just as if you are going to an in-person interview."

5. Make Sure It Passes the Share Test

As with all online life, don't put content out there that you wouldn't be prepared to see go viral. It's unlikely your video resume will become an overnight Internet sensation, but imagining that scenario is a good test to make sure you could cope if it did.

Imagine your friends and family watching the clip. If the thought of that embarrasses you, then don't submit it.

Creating An Effective Sales Talk

How to write a winning Sales Pitch?

TIPS:

1. Find the perfect hook

If you’re planning to send your sales pitch via email, crafting "The Perfectsubject Line" is imperative. Your subject line or opening sentence will be the hook to capture your buyer’s attention. It is the difference between your client reading or simply dismiss your pitch altogether.

2. Solve the problem

Once you’ve convinced your buyer to continue reading your pitch, you next need to show how you can help them. Are you aware of a common issue that your buyer faces, which your product or service can solve?

In your written pitch, directly address the issues that your buyer faces. Then focus on how your product or service can help fix these problems. By tackling the problem head on, your customers will see that you have taken their needs into account and found the fix. What better way to prove the brilliance of what you have to offer?

3. Back it up with facts

A survey conducted by Dimension Research found that 90% of respondents claimed that reading positive online reviews influenced their buying decisions. With this statistic in mind, your pitch needs to be full of facts and statistics that back up your claims.

When it comes to writing your sales pitch, be sure to include testimonials and case studies, which also contain statistics and figures to prove the success of your product or service. If you claim you can solve your buyer’s main problems, show them how with facts.

4. Ask for the sale

You should now have a pitch that addresses your buyer’s problems, shows how your product or service offers a solution and backs this up with facts and statistics to support your claim. The next step is to give your buyer some clear instructions on what they need to do next.

So what would that be?

Ask for the sale of course!

Don’t be shy to ask for the sale. You’ve come this far, so why stop now?

Whatever action is required; make it clear with a well-written call to action

5. Short and sweet does the trick

The length of your pitch is important. If it’s too long, there’s a good chance your buyer will lose interest and fail to read on. But getting your written pitch to the perfect length is likely to result in your buyer maintaining an interest right through to the end.

The number of words you use differs depending on the recipient. Try to be strict with your word count to avoid information overload, which will result in your buyers ditching your pitch.

What could be worse than your pitch being ignored because it’s simply too long?

6. Grammar and spell check

Finally, once you’ve written your sales pitch, don’t forget to check your spelling and grammar. There’s nothing worse than being let down by a few mistakes that could be corrected before clicking send.

Once you’ve checked through your written pitch, it’s time to send it out to your buyer. Remember to tailor your pitch to each individual and make it as personal to him or her as possible.

7. Don’t forget to follow-up

A recent study found that 70% of email conversation end if a prospect doesn't reply to the first email.

However, there is a 21% chance you will get a response to your second email if the first goes unanswered. These statistics further prove the importance of a follow-up email after the initial sales pitch.

5 Effective Tips Writing A Blog!!

How to Write an Effective Blog Post

Key tips:

Know your Audience Well

Before you start writing, it’s crucial that you know who your audience is, and what they are looking for.

Instead of guessing what your audience needs or wants, try to make data-driven decisions by doing industry research and competitor analysis.

Sounds complicated? It really isn’t.

Write Compelling Headlines

If you don’t have a compelling headline, then there’s a very good chance that your blog post will not be read or shared.

As humans, we’re shallow. We judge a book by its cover and a blog post by its title.

That’s why your blog post title is crucial for the success of that article.

Add Subheadings and Shorter Paragraphs to Break up the Page

Formatting is super important for blog posts. There’s nothing worse than reading a blog post that’s just one giant paragraph.
Most of the time people skim through the content before they actually decide to read it, so we always recommend breaking up your article with subheadings.

Add Images

The human brain processes visual content a lot faster than text-based content. That’s why adding captivating images can help boost your engagement.

Add a Clear Call-to-Action

Whether it’s to ask your readers to leave a comment, share your blog post, follow you on social media, or purchase your product, make sure you clearly state what you’d like them to do.

Hope that you find these tips helpful in writing your own blogs.

Highlighting the Flaws!!

 No More HIDING!!

Being an ardent follower of fashion and makeup trends, while browsing through the latest trendy makeup looks of 2020, I was simply awestruck. I couldn’t withhold myself from writing a blog over it.

The makeup trends for decades have been brewing up over the concept of accentuating flawless features. Makeup artists have been using their magical brush strokes to transform us into that one mold of epitome.

But Not Anymore. Period!

“There are no rules when it comes to makeup!”

― Kevyn Aucoin

The concept of finding perfection in the beauty has gone through a complete overhaul now. Perfection has been replaced now with the word healthy. Instead of applying layers and layers of the base to cover these flaws, there has been a sense of acceptance erupting among women of their naturally gifted features. They are no longer shying away from the freckles on their face Acceptance of flaws will be a huge step towards their empowerment. Adding fuel to this fire of revolution, the Makeup artists are currently no longer concentrating over the perfect brow lines and arches. Instead, they are revolutionizing the stereotypical makeup trend of hiding the flaws to emphasizing natural beauty.

-- Calvin Klien

Now hours and hours are spent to portray a perfectly healthy face. Makeup artists are highlighting flaws on their model's face to portray her as the "Woman of 2020", who is assertive about her looks, confident enough to experiment with the minimal base equipped with vibrant colors and themes, glitters, dewy eyebrows or no eyebrows, freckles & frosting irrespective of her skin tone. Imperfection is the new definition of perfection. Standing out of the background rather than complementing it.

God has blessed everyone with unique and beautiful features. It is time to flaunt them not to hide them. The intention is not to stop using makeup but to stop gushing over the perfect polished look. Enhance your personality with your natural features.
