Consulting and Communication Skills! Make use of it !

                                              Business Communication

My morning today started with a great session on the importance of communication in consulting and how to build a personal brand by one of the NITIE Alumni Mr. Nikhil Kulkarni.

He shared his mantras of how to be a successful Consultant and what is the key to their success?

Consulting is a predominantly a client-facing role, where you have to effectively communicate with the customer so that he is utmostly convinced with the solutions you have put forward. You have to be a pioneer in business communication to become a successful consultant. Communication is the game-changer here. It can make or break a deal.

He touch-based upon the magic created by the combination of Microsoft Word, Excel & Powerpoint- THE TRIMURTY of any business operations.

He also explained in length about how to structure your thoughts and adopt the below pointers:

1. The Pyramid Principle.

2. MECE: Mutually Exclusive Collectively Exhaustive.

3. Use of Hierarchical Structure to Organise your Ideas and supporting Evidence.

'Our Ideas should stand out of the Crowd' - How do we do that? Curious?

Follow the below Tips and Tricks: For higher impact begin with-
        - A startling Statistic or Image
        - A Quotation from someone famous that is relevant to your presentation.
        - A Video to grab Attention
        - A Question
        - An Activity

The crux for the session was Personal BrandingWhy and When to create a Personal Brand? OR Whether to create one or not?

To build Personal Image, one has to deep dive into the pool of Digital Media. Be it Blogging, YouTube Channel, Twitter, Instagram or Facebook; keep sharing your views and thoughts regularly.

Hope this was helpful and created some buzz in your head to research the key takeaways. Will be coming up with more such informative blogs.

Enjoy Reading!!!

  1. It is fine.. More deeper assimilation and application of the concepts of Nikhil need to be discussed. For example you can assess how far this outline is used by you in making the poster. Such a reflection will pave way for your improvement. See to it that the list is updated with your correct blog . You do it and it is your work ! All the best . Share your blog with your friends and beg them for feedback.. You need to be humble and ask them to give feedback.. seek it , they might consider to give you.
